Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
Teflon (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a material with an extremely low coefficient of friction. It is resistant to almost all known elements, chemicals, and solvents. The following varieties of PTFE products are available:
PTFE with glass fibres (approx. 25%)
PTFE with bronze (approx. 40%)
PTFE with graphite (approx. 15%)
PTFE with carbon and graphite.
TEFLON PROPERTIES:
- High heat resistance.
- High resistance to chemicals and solvents.
- Non-stick properties.
- Good dielectric properties.
- Low coefficient of friction.
- Physiological inertness.
- Low mechanical resistance, hardness and stiffness.
